Crow’s Feet – Mixed Media with Photography

July 16, 2016

Several photo images were gathered to create “Crow’s Feet”. The inspiration came from one found at a local vintage store. As a collector, I’m always on the hunt for old photographs to use in my mixed media art.

For this photo project I used Picmonkey, an online editing software. PicMonkey’s online service offers just the right amount of tools for creative play. It’s a great place to start if you’re at all interested in the altering your photos using digital editing.

I then searched for a dress and crow’s feet online.

After editing these three photos together, it was printed and mounted onto black card stock. I painted around entire image with an off white craft paint. The shawl was painted white, and some decorative details were added with pencil and a white gel pen.

The final step was to scan and upload it into PicMonkey again for the final edits; the text and the blooms in the left corner.

Thanks so much for visiting! Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions about this process.
